Pick Me Up 2011

This year's Pick Me Up Contemporary Graphic Arts Fair at Somerset House looks set to build on the success of the first one last year. 


It was great to see some amazing works in the flesh last year from the likes of Alex Trochut, Siggi Eggertsson and Rob Ryan (to name a few).

Highgate Youth Theatre Progress

This is how the logo has developed in the last week. 


The Previous logo based on the custom made cut-out font (available as a free download below) was well received, but it was felt that the masks were a little too classic. 

I continued to develop the cut out theme incorporating an iron fence with birds.
It reflects the local nature in the vicinity of the theatre - with the ancient woodland of Highgate Woods just around the corner.
This is the initial draft, I will now explore the use of colours within different elements of the design.

This is a continuation of the work I did on a custom font for the theatre, emulating
the style of Polish wycinanki. (cut-out art)

Vintage Driving Licence

Picked this very nice British driving licence up at a Fair in Crouch End earlier.

Reminds me of the vintage public service posters and the overused 'keep calm' posters.

It beats the identity card modern counterparts!

I am currently doing a rebrand project which called for some Polish cut-out  style treatment - so I drew out an alphabet and made it into a font. 
I thought I would share it here.

Some manual kerning is required with J&A, but this is a software glitch. Enjoy!

Every now and then something comes along....that you just have to have:

and here is that something. I will be looking forward to having a closer look at one of these when they are released. Not sure about a UK release date but it looks like June in the US
